The Benefits of Cutting Your Nails Regularly
Realize it or not, your nails can become an ideal place for germs and bacteria to grow, which will eventually degrade your health condition. Unfortunately, there are not few of us in this world that are not so diligent when it comes to cutting both our fingernails and toenails. We don’t usually realize that there are quite a few benefits we can get if we are diligent enough in cutting our nails.
Prevents Inward Nail Growth
You know, if you seldom cut your nails when the time comes to do so, you may happen to experience a condition in which your nails grow inwards instead of outwards like other normal people. This condition is called onychocryptosis and it is very painful. In fact, it can injure your skin.
Prevents Bacteria Infections
If you don’t like the idea of suffering from bacteria infections, it is highly recommended that you cut your nails regularly. This is even more important if you often wear shoes, such as when you go to work or school. In this case, if you don’t cut your nails, bacteria will start to grow because your feet do not have any rooms for breathing, plus, they are sweating inside your shoes. Therefore, you need to cut your nails regularly and make sure that you don’t put on dirty socks.
Prevents Fungus Infections
If you often feel lazy about cutting your nails, my friends, you may very well expose yourself to fungus infections, particularly in between your toes. Even worse, your toenails may even start to look yellowish in no time at all, indicating further infections.
Prevents Injuries
You may not realize this,
but if you seldom cut your nails, you are prone to a decent number of injuries. Take for an example injuring your own face with your own fingernails. This may happen when you feel itchy on your face and you scratch your face with your fingernails, without any intentions to injure your own face, of course. Or, your fingernails may even injure your hands and cause internal bleeding, which is a very serious problem, by the way.
