Eggs protects your eyes

Eggs protects your eyes

The yolk of an Egg gets it color from yellow-orange plant pigments called Lutein and zeaxanthin. How yolk becomes yellow? It came from the chicken food yellow corn, alfalfa meal, corn-gluten meal, dried-algae meal, or marigold-petal meal.

Lutein and zeaxanthin are both carotenoids and have been shown reduce risks of cataracts and age-related macular degeneration that leads to blindness in sixty years old and above.

Scientists believe high levels of lutein and zeaxanthin in macular region of the retina area may protect the Eyes from damage due to oxidation.

In studies lutein and zeaxanthin are more easily absorbed in our body compared from the other sources of lutein and zeaxanthin.
