Get rid of stains, freckles and hyper-pigmentation

What is hyper-pigmentation?

Hyper-pigmentation is a disorder which is characterized by dark areas on the skin, and it is caused by the increased amount of melanin, the dark pigment of the skin. The exposure to sunlight, pregnancy, certain diseases, aging or trauma can lead to disorders of the melanin and create a non-aesthetic brown spots which are characteristic of this benign disorder.

Get rid of stains, freckles and hyper-pigmentation We can divide the exact causes into two groups: external and internal. External causes can be those coming from the environment, such as exposure to sunlight, or chemical compounds (betaxolol, minocycline, estrogen, progesterone, etc.). Internal causes can be inborn – people with darker skin are more prone to develop this disorder.

Freckles, age-spots and stains from the sun are caused by the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun that damage the melanin and cause a temporary or permanent discoloration. Very often, you can see these stains on the face and hands, however, they can occur on any part of the skin that has been exposed to the sun.

The scars from trauma or surgery can also cause discoloration of the skin, and even when the problem is gone, the dark spots remain.
Melasma is a hyper-pigmentation of the skin that occurs during pregnancy, although sometimes it can affect men as well. Often, it is called the mask of pregnancy because the brown spots appear on the face – mainly the nose and cheeks. Usually, this disorder goes away by itself after the pregnancy and it does not cause any major problems.

Natural cure for hyper-pigmentation – the recipe:

1. Take 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder (turmeric)
2. Add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
3. Stir well
4. Apply it to the affected area
5. Leave it 15 minutes to dry
6. Wash it with cold water

Do not expose your skin to the sun immediately after that!
It is recommended to apply it before showering.
Repeat this once or twice every day until there is a visible improvement.
This simple remedy is really efficient and it is based on the principles of Ayurveda, the ancient Indian science of healing.
The lemon brightens the skin and causes skin peeling, and the turmeric, besides being efficient in making the skin lighter (and the people in India know it well), it also has anti-inflammatory effect and makes skin glow.

Note: People who have very sensitive skin can add some water in the lemon juice or replace it with milk.
Try it!
